Curator, Birmingham Global Shapers, a part of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community, where she leads efforts to drive positive change in her local community. With a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), Salmah focuses on creating and promoting opportunities for underrepresented voices to be heard and empowered.
Her work spans various areas, including climate action, civic engagement, and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) advocacy. Through these efforts, she has become a key figure in fostering community-driven initiatives that promote sustainability and social justice.
In addition to her leadership with the Global Shapers, Salmah brings a wealth of experience as a Marketing Communications Consultant. She uses her skills to effectively communicate important issues and amplify the impact of the projects she’s involved in.
Salmah’s approach is grounded in collaboration and a belief in the power of community to enact meaningful change. She is committed to continuing her work in creating a more inclusive and equitable society, both locally and globally.
Suriya is an Educational Administration Specialist, Social Entrepreneur, and Public Health Consultant with a broad range of experience in the public sector, non-profits, and NGOs. With a degree in Biomedical Sciences, she has been instrumental in developing mental health and wellbeing programs for communities facing socioeconomic challenges. Her work also includes contributions to community-based research, tender writing, contract management, and various operational and administrative roles. Recently, Suriya launched Untapped Voices Project, a social enterprise focused on enhancing educational resources, assistive technology, health and wellbeing, and empowering social mobility for individuals with hidden disabilities. Suriya is excited to take on the role of Impact Officer 2024-2025 at Birmingham Global Shapers, where she will develop materials and resources to better capture community metrics and integrate data-driven decisions into hub developments
Priscilla is a dedicated lawyer, tutor, and the Vice Curator of the Birmingham Hub, an initiative of the World Economic Forum. She is passionate about driving global and sustainable change, beginning with her immediate community. Her interests lie in equality, diversity, and inclusion at all levels, as well as in policy, governance, and global change advocacy. Priscilla is committed to fostering positive social impact and is actively involved in initiatives that promote these values. She is also an avid reader of literature, enjoys learning about new cultures, and prioritizes a healthy lifestyle. In addition to her professional and personal pursuits, Priscilla is known for her strong communication skills, her efficiency as a collaborator, and her reliability as a team player. She is dedicated to making meaningful contributions to her community and beyond.
